"School Ties" movie at Las Cruces International Film Festival

The Las Cruces International Film Festival will present a special screening of “School Ties” starring festival honoree Brendan Fraser on Thursday, March 9 at 4:00 pm, Allen Theatres Cineport 10 at the Mesilla Valley Mall in Las Cruces.

Set in the 1950s, School Ties sheds light on the old boys club and anti-semitism. David Green (Brendan Fraser), a supreme athlete, is granted admission to an exclusive boarding school reserved for the country's blue bloods. Green hopes to use the school to get into Harvard, while the school uses him to win football championships. Everything is going as planned until a spoiled classmate Charlie Dillon (Matt Damon), finds out that Green is Jewish.

The film will be followed by a “talk back” featuring Rabbi Larry Karol and Rabbi Bery Schmuckler.
