Two young professionals from El Paso, Daniel Schwartz and Rachel Goodman, participated in the 2009 UJC National Young Leadership New Orleans Conference from March 15-17. Danny, an engineer with a local firm, is an El Paso native, and Rachel, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, hails from Houston. Their trip was partially subsidized by our Federation, but Danny and Rachel provided the manpower. They turned TIKUN OLAM into concrete actions by giving time and labor to a New Orleans building project. They also benefitted by meeting their peers from all over the USA and from learning with a host of engaging speakers.
